Layers: The SuperApp of Education in Brazil

Layers is an Edtech “SuperApp” that integrates different technology solutions into a single digital environment. Originally focused on digital agendas, Layers expanded to include features such as payments and communications.

The Company

Founded by Danilo Yoneshige and Ivan Seidel, Layers quickly became one of the leading EdTech companies in Brazil, serving over 2,000 schools nationwide. It was also a valued partner of Volaris owned Prima Software. While the company was doing very well, it saw some weakness in its competitors and an opportunity to grab additional market share. This would require additional capital to expand the sales team and build new features. This is where Volaris and VMS Ventures stepped in. With our capital investment and expertise in the market, we are partnering with Layers to help them expand and realize their full potential.
